The HT3 Driving Shoe Collaboration by Honda x JackThreads x Thrillist
In celebration of the re-designed Honda Civic winning the 2016 North American Car of The Year award, the automaker has teamed up with JackThreads and Thrillist to release the HT3 Driving Shoe, developed and produced by Otabo.
The look and feel of the HT3 fall in line with Honda’s core design values “high-touch, high tension and high-tech.” Using materials like neoprene, fine perforated suede, tumbled full grain leather and magnetic closures, the driving shoe draws inspiration from the clean lines and premium materials of the new Civic.
Michael Vincent, Senior Buyer at JackThreads, sneaker guru and our point man on the project, worked closely with Jared Hall who led on exterior design of the Civic at Honda R&D, to design the limited release driving shoe. “We wanted to create a shoe that’s unlike anything we’ve seen before - something sleek, cool, luxe, and futuristic, but also functional behind the wheel and on the street", explained Vincent.
