Minneapolis, MNFreelance Contract

As social media has become both an outlet for featuring our work behind the scenes, as well as an important way to connect with designers and startups, we are looking for a Social Media Account Manager to support our efforts in building an online community. This is a content editing and development role, with a strong focus on project management. Our ideal candidate is curious and engaged, able to meet deadlines, and will accurately interpret brand guidelines.

This is freelance position with the option to work onsite or remotely. Candidate is expected to be available for onsite meetings 2-3 times a month.

  • Sort through photos submitted by manufacturing team and make initial selections for review and consideration.


  • Meet with supervisor 2-3 times a month to determine photography edits and take notes on content for drafting copy.


  • Edit photos per photography guidelines and draft 1-3 sentences of copy for each post. Identify and determine hashtags. Organize initial drafts of posts for final review and approval.


  • Schedule approved posts for Instagram account. Revise and repost content to secondary social media accounts - Twitter, Facebook, Google+.


  • Interject any last minute, important posts to announce client product launches.


  • Post content 2 times per week at minimum. Must be responsible for posting during holidays.


    • Excellent taste, creative, possessing a strong interest and knowledge of social media
    • Organized and thorough, with strong attention to detail
    • Able to stick to timelines and meet strict deadlines
    • Ability to produce effective copywriting with specific audience in mind
    • Experience using social media accounts for businesses
    • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, MS Office, VSCO, Hootsuite
    • Able to accept guidance and take criticism productively
    • Photograph, graphic design and analytics skills are ideal, but not required
